Custom Pole Banners & Signs

Streets, parking lots, and boulevards give you a captive audience that most signage never reaches. HotPressKC makes it easy to put your message right in front of that foot and vehicle traffic with custom pole banners built for light poles, lamp posts, and street signage. Whether you're marketing a citywide festival or pointing students toward game day parking, pole banners turn ordinary poles into advertising space.

What You Get

  • Heavyweight 18 oz double-sided vinyl, our toughest outdoor material

  • A built-in block-out layer so your design on one side never bleeds through to the other

  • Top and bottom pole pockets plus corner grommets, included on every order

  • Waterproof, fade resistant printing that holds color outdoors

  • Full digital color printing that's G7 certified for accurate, repeatable color

Sizing and Pole Fit

Each banner is designed to slide onto round, square, or fluted poles measuring 1.5 inches in diameter or larger. Choose from five standard sizes: 48"h x 30"w, 54"h x 30"w, 60"h x 30"w, 66"h x 30"w, and 72"h x 30"w. Need a custom height outside these options? Reach out and we'll work with you directly on a size that fits your poles.

Where Pole Banners Get Used

Cities, campuses, and businesses all lean on pole banners because they turn a stretch of street into promotional real estate. Common applications include:

Municipal and civic use

  • Announcing festivals, concerts, and seasonal city events

  • Drawing attention to parks, zoos, and cultural districts

  • Marking the changing seasons along main streets and boulevards

  • Welcoming tourists and visitors into a downtown or historic district

Business, school, and campus use

  • Shopping districts inviting foot traffic and promoting local retail

  • High schools and universities directing students to parking, events, or game day activities

  • Alumni events pointing visitors toward tailgate zones and stadium entrances

  • Arenas and civic centers announcing upcoming shows and sporting events

  • Business parks and industrial areas marking locations for visiting traffic

Because these banners hang in pairs or series along a stretch of poles, they're especially effective for building a cohesive, branded look across an entire street, campus, or district.

Finishing Details

Every pole banner ships with 3 inch flat pockets sewn into the top and bottom edges, along with corner grommets placed next to each pocket for secure mounting. This product doesn't include a hemmed-only or no-finishing option since the pole pocket construction is built into the design.

Because of the pocket construction, finished sizing can vary slightly from the ordered dimensions, typically within half an inch.

Caring for Your Pole Banner

Clean your banner using a soft, non-abrasive cloth with a mild soap and water solution; avoid scrubbing the surface. When it's time to store the banner, roll it with the printed side facing inward and return it to its original packaging. If a protective sheet shipped with your order, place it over the print side before rolling. Store rolled banners upright in a cool, dry space to protect the ink and material between uses.

Preparing Your Artwork

We accept PDF, AI, PSD, JPG, and TIFF files. Unlike most banner products, pole banners don't require bleed since the pole pockets naturally absorb the edges; set your file up at the exact finished size (a 3' x 8' banner, for example, should be built at 36" x 96"). Use a minimum resolution of 100 ppi at full print size for the sharpest output, and stick to solid colors near the pocketed edges since fine detail there can get lost in the fold. Our design team checks every file before printing, and you get revision on your proof at no extra cost.

Frequently Asked Questions

What pole sizes will these banners fit? They're built for round, square, or fluted poles that are 1.5 inches in diameter or wider, which covers most standard light poles and lamp posts.

What material are pole banners printed on? 18 oz double-sided vinyl with a block-out layer built in, so your artwork on one side won't show through to the other. It's the same heavyweight material we use for our toughest outdoor banners.

Can I get pole banners in a custom size? Our standard lineup covers five heights from 48" up to 72", all at 30" wide. If none of those fit your poles, contact us directly and we'll help you find the right custom height.

Do pole banners come with grommets or pockets? Both. Every banner includes 3 inch pockets on the top and bottom edges for sliding onto the pole, plus corner grommets next to each pocket for additional security.

Do I need to add bleed to my artwork? No. Pole banners are set up at the exact finished size with no bleed required, since the pole pockets take up the outer edges of the design.

How much can the finished size vary from what I ordered? Expect variance of about half an inch or less due to the pocket construction, which is standard for this style of banner.
