How Ordering Works

1. Choose your size and finishing. Pick your dimensions, single- or double-sided printing, orientation (landscape or portrait), and finishing option; grommets, hems only, or pole pockets.

2. Upload your artwork or work with our design team. Send us a print-ready file, or let HotPress KC help you build the design from scratch. 

3. We print, check, and ship. Every order gets checked for print quality before it goes out.

Finishing Options

Every HotPress KC fabric banner comes standard with sewn hems and grommets, so it's ready to hang as soon as it arrives.

If you'd rather mount your banner on a pole or frame, pole pockets are available:

• Top only

• Top and bottom

• Both sides

• Bottom only

Sewn pole pockets run $5 for one pocket or $8 for two, with a standard 3" flat pocket that fits a 1" diameter pole. Need a different pocket size? Note it in your design instructions and we'll confirm before printing.

Note: Fabric banners are folded for shipping, so light creasing is normal. Hanging your banner in a warm room or brief sunlight for a day or two will usually smooth this out.

Print Quality: What Dye-Sublimation Means for You

Dye-sublimation isn't just marketing language, it's the reason your banner looks better and lasts longer than a basic printed sign. The process uses heat to turn ink into a gas that bonds directly with the polyester fibers, rather than laying a layer of ink on top of the fabric. The result:

• No cracking or peeling over time, since the color is part of the fabric, not a coating on it

• Richer, more accurate color reproduction

• A soft hand-feel that photographs well for step-and-repeat and event backdrops

Because dye-sublimation results can vary slightly from your screen or a previous order, we offer Pantone color matching for $50 per color, per item. If exact color accuracy matters for your brand, list your Pantone number in the design instructions and we'll match it before printing.

Art & Design Specs

• Recommended file types: PDF, AI, PSD, JPG, TIFF

• Bleed: Set your file up at full print size with a 1" bleed on every edge. For example, a file for a 3' x 8' banner should be built at 38" x 96".

• Resolution: For sharp, professional results, use at least 100 ppi at full print size. A 24" x 24" image should be at least 2400 x 2400 pixels.

Care Instructions

To protect your print quality, we don't recommend machine washing fabric banners, washing can darken the ink and change how the material looks. If you need to clean your banner, spot-clean with a damp cloth. Store it flat or loosely rolled, and keep it in a dry indoor space between uses.

Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between a fabric banner and a vinyl banner? Fabric banners use a softer, matte material best suited for indoor use, with sewn hems for a clean finish. Vinyl banners use a heavier, weatherproof material designed to hold up outdoors. If your banner will live outside or face regular handling, vinyl is usually the better fit; for indoor events, trade shows, and backdrops, fabric wins on look and feel.

Can I use a fabric banner outdoors? You can, but we don't recommend it for extended outdoor use. The material resists scratches but isn't built to handle wind, rain, or prolonged sun exposure the way vinyl is. Keep fabric banners indoors or under cover for the longest life.

Can I upload my own artwork? Yes. Upload a print-ready file directly at checkout, or send us your design instructions and our team will help you prep it. We'll check every file for quality before printing and can flag any issues before your banner goes into production.

Do you offer double-sided fabric banners? Yes. We sew two printed fabric layers together with a blockout layer in between, so there's no show-through from either side. Just select the double-sided option when you place your order.

Can I choose where my grommets or pole pockets go? Yes. Add your placement preferences in the design instructions when you upload your artwork, and our team will confirm before printing.

How big can a fabric banner be? Our standard sizes range from as small as 1' x 1' up to 9' x 30'. Need something larger? Reach out for a custom quote.

How should I hang my fabric banner? Most customers hang fabric banners using the grommets with rope, zip ties, or S-hooks. If you added pole pockets, you can mount it directly onto a pole or banner stand for a tighter, wrinkle-free look. We don't recommend punching your own holes in the material,with it weakens the banner over time.
